Bashar Rihani is a member of the Boards of Directors of Sidara and Dar, and a Partner and Director ofTransportation at Dar. A highly experienced industry leader, he has more than 35 years of expertise in theplanning, design, and delivery of major transportation and civil infrastructure programs.
Bashar is recognized for guiding complex, large‑scale infrastructure initiatives that support long‑term mobility, economic development, and institutional capacity. He has extensive experience working with public authorities, national transport organizations, and international agencies, and is known for leading multi‑disciplinary teams through the full lifecycle of complex programs — from strategy and master planning through delivery.
As a Sidara Board member, Bashar leads the design and oversight of the corporate governance system to ensure strategic alignment and risk mitigation across the organization. In his role at Dar, he oversees major regional and international assignments and supports the delivery of integrated, multi‑modal transport solutions.
Over the course of his career, Bashar has held senior leadership roles on landmark airport, rail, metro, and national transport planning programs across the Middle East, Africa, the United States, and SouthAmerica. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in civil engineering from Imperial College London and North Carolina State University.
